Facebook

Where would we be without Facebook? It seems everybody and their dog (literally in some cases!) has their own Facebook account nowadays. Having this installed on your iPhone allows you to keep up to date, and keep others to date on social lives whilst on the move. You can even upload your own pictures so people know exactly how much fun you are having! The best part is that it is free to download.

This fantastic application allows you to listen to radio stations from around the world. It is amazing for keeping your entertained whilst on the go. With the premium version you can even listen to a few podcasts. All of this for absolutely nothing. Perfect if your device doesn’t have too many songs on it. The only downside is that you cannot choose the exact song you want to listen to, but the in-built search functions allow you to come pretty close to this.

Amazon

The Amazon Store is one of the largest in the world nowadays. It seems that they have everything you could ever want. In the past you could only have access to the store through your computer. They have now released a handy little application however which will enable you to access the store, no matter where you are in the world. It even has an in-built barcode scanner which allows you to compare prices on the go.

Grocery IQ

Gone are the days where we would have to wander around the supermarkets with leaves of paper. Now we can do it from the comfort of our iPhone. You have various functions such as a ‘favourites’ list and a barcode spanner built in. It actually makes one of the most annoying activities in the world fun!

Skype

This is perhaps one of the best applications, although it is designed primarily for businesses. It allows you to voice and video chat with your friends on the go, all for an incredibly low price of free. All you need to do is set up your Skype account and you are ready to go!

Sound Hound

Ever heard a song that you can’t quite put your finger on? Have a tune running around your head that is simply getting on your nerves? Then you need sound hound. You can either hold it up to a music source, or simply sing the song to it. It will come back to tell you what song it is. This is genius. Much better than Shazam too!
