With the advancement of special effects, some of the most innovative products that only existed in our imaginations previously can now be witnessed on the big screen. Whilst some of the gadgets seen in movies will be nothing more than a dream for a long time to come, some devices will actually come to fruition. Who can forget the appearance of the first tablet computer in 2001: A Space Odyssey? Now take a look at the stage that we are currently at.
This article is going to highlight some of the most wanted devices from movies that have yet to become a reality. We can only dream right?
Tumbler
No, I don’t mean the social network. Here I mean the latest incarnation of the Bat-Mobile, possibly one of the best gadgets in comic book history.
The Tumbler is probably the best version of the bat-mobile so far. It is literally build like a tank and has the ability to fly on roof tops. Imagine how much traffic you could skip with this baby! When destroyed it even converts to a motorcycle. Incredibly nifty.
Of course, with all the weapons it has, it is not going to hit our streets anytime soon. We can dream though right?
Spiderman Web Shooter
The latest spider-man movie introduces us to the latest line in his web shooters. This is a mechanical device, and of course it is absolutely brilliant. If these were invented, I am sure that grown men around the world will be spraying their sticky stuff everywhere! (Behave!)
Star Trek Teleportation Device
Who hasn’t watched Star Trek and imagined owning one of these babies? Imagine how easy it would be to get to work! Whilst it is a long way off yet, I do hope they speed the invention up. It could mean getting a couple of extra minutes ‘lie-in’ before heading to work.
Light Sabers
I really don’t need to say too much about this weapon. We all want to be a Jedi Master right? (Or perhaps a Sith Lord for the more evil amongst us) and what better way to do this than with the ultimate weapon? Invention of this device could actually be pretty close too. Not sure it would go on sale to the public however.
The Mini Cooper
Yes, the Mini Cooper is already a vehicle, I am aware of that. However, the Mini Cooper that Austin Power drives is really the ‘best of the best’. It can not only drive on the road, but underwater as well. Please invent this soon, that way I can shout ‘Groovy’
James Bond Aston Martin Vanquish
The James Bond movies always introduce us to the sexiest vehicles in existence. However no device is as sexy as the Aston Martin Vanquish. With this device no cars in front of you will be able to turn invisible (very useful), oh, and it also is equipped with weapons that would rival a small army. Give me this now please.
Iron Man’s Suit
I don’t think Halloween would ever be the same again with Iron Man’s Suit at our disposal. It boasts a number of fantastic features, including thruster systems, micro missiles, lasers, a number of other missiles and of course, it is bullet proof. Mr Stark really outdid himself here. It can also fly, that is cool. Sorry Batman, but your cape doesn’t quite cut it here.
Men in Black Neuralyser
We have all been in those situations where you could simply erase somebody’s memories of you. If the Neuralyser came into existence, we would be able to just do that. Imagine just being able to point it at somebody and have all of the intricate details of an embarrassing situation wiped from existence.
Jarvis
Sorry Siri, there is something better than you here. Another Iron Man Gadget, Jarvis is the ultimate personal assistant. He can take care of a house, sort out the cars and even become a part of that Iron Man suit your eyes on.
This really is the most efficient personal device in existence, it may actually come to fruition pretty soon as well!
Tron Light Cycles
A Ducati is one of the best motorcycles in the world, and the movie, Tron Legacy all but confirms this. The Light Cycle isn’t like a normal motorcycle however, instead, it’s a rod that expands and covers the rider. This then converts into a motorcycle. You would never need to think about parking again!
